Cambridgeshire County Council

Cambridgeshire County Council has a Governors Services section of its website. The Council provides a comprehensive range of services to help schools recruit Governors, and to help Governors do their job.

The services for Governors include training, an Annual Conference for Governors, a Governor Handbook, a telephone helpline service, a resource library with videos and books, up-to-date information on legislative changes, a termly magazine, and a welcome pack for new Governors and Clerks.


Governornet

As part of the Government's strategy for e-government, School Governors were identified by the Department as a key customer group that warrant their own website. The Governornet website, at www.governornet.co.uk, has been set up as a support to School Governors. The main sections cover: roles, training, curriculum, staffing, finance, and guide to the law.

The Governornet website includes a Guide to the Law for School Governors, which may be downloaded free in Word or PDF versions.


Governorline

Governorline, on 08000 722 181 is a free advice line, run by the Government, which provides information and support to School Governors across all aspects of school life.
